About Us
Our History
McVeety Electric opened it's doors in 1945 by founder Richard McVeety.
Richard operated the company along with his wife Elva until he sold it to Ted
Dyke in 1984. He continued to work in the company for another 10 years
until he retired. Sadly Richard passed away in March of 2000.
Ted has owned and operated the company since 1984 and has expanded it ever
since. He added Alliance Security in 1989 as an additional service for his
customers, and because it fit in well with the skills of the company. He
has also developed a software company by developing a software package designed
specifically for Electrical Contractors. For more information, see the Trade
Master Web Site.
Today
Today, our core team consists of Ted Dyke who works with customers and runs
the office, wife Cindy Dyke who operates the Trade Master software division, and
foreman Derek Popplewell who manages the electrical & security jobs on
site.
Associations
We are a member of the Ontario Electrical Safety Authority's Authorized
Contractor Program. By law, all electrical jobs in Ontario must be
inspected by the OESA. But because of our excellent
inspection record, the OESA only inspects a fraction of our jobs. This
translates into faster service for you without compromising safety or
quality.
